Future Space: The Intersection Between Technology and Social Science, a Penn EMTM Program
September 22, 2009
WHAT: Michael Kearns and Kaihan Krippendorff will be keynote speakers for the next Penn Executive Master’s in Technology Management Program seminar.
“Strategic Behavior in Social Networks” with Michael Kearns, professor of computer and information science at Penn Scientists and sociologists now know a great deal about the structural properties of typical social networks. What is less understood is how such structure influences what is "happening" in the network, whether the dynamic process of interest is the diffusion of information, the matching of individuals or a search for expertise.
“The Way of Innovation — Unlocking Breakthrough Growth” with Kaihan Krippendorff, strategist and author of “The Art of the Advantage” and the soon-to-be-released “The Way of Innovation” This two-hour workshop is designed to build each participant's skill at generating and launching new innovations. Participants will learn applicable tools including the "strategic plays" that trigger prolonged breakthrough performance, ways to rapidly identify highest potential, disruptive strategies and more.
The EMTM program is a two-year executive program based in the Penn School of Engineering and Applied Science and co-sponsored by Penn’s Wharton School. The goal of the Future Space series is to celebrate EMTM's pioneering role in the education of technology leaders.
